ALAMOSA — The Friends of the Alamosa Public Library will offer a gift-wrapping service at their annual Holiday Book Sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26 at the Alamosa Public Library. For those purchasing a book worth $25 or more, Friends’ President Erin Smith will gift-wrap the book for free. A variety of gift-wrap will be available. For anyone buying a book at the sale wrapping is available for a donation to the Friends of $3 for small books and $5 for large books. A free Christmas ornament will be given to anyone buying $25 or more in books. The Holiday Book Sale, the Friends’ last sale for 2011, features new and antique books. The Friends’ sales raise money for underfunded and unfunded programs at the library. CREEDE — The Creede and Mineral County Chamber of Commerce is holding the 22nd annual Creede Chocolate Festival on Saturday, Nov. 26 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tasters are welcome to sample chocolate treats from a variety of restaurants, organizations and individuals. Tickets are $8 each and are available online at creede.com or at the Chamber office. A limited number of tickets are available for each day. ALAMOSA — The Adams State College percussion students will perform during the Percussion Spectacular at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, in Richardson Hall Auditorium, Alamosa. The concert will feature the ASC Percussion Ensemble, ASC Drum Line, SLV Community Steel Band, and Rocky Mountain Pan Handlers performing works from Levitan to Kobe, Skidmore to Noller, Beethoven to Boogsie. Special performances by David Noller, drum set, and Klifford Holly, marimba, will be included in the concert. Admission is $5 for adults, $1 for students and is free to AS&F and Friends of Music.
