The audience booing soldiers in uniform at the GOP debate was dishonorable, and the silence of the GOP candidates showed not just dishonor, but an absence of leadership. At least John McCain had the backbone in 2008 to publicly confront and refute the Muslim and birther rumors about Barack Obama. I understand political differences, but there are standards of decency and respect that we are all supposed to maintain in civil discourse. The GOP candidates failed that test.
