iMingle® Launches Group Buying for Car Insurance in Tennessee

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) January 30, 2012

iMingle ®, an insurance marketing program sponsored by Unitrin Direct®*, announced today that it has launched in Tennessee as the first direct-to-consumer insurance provider to offer group buying for auto insurance. Tennessee is the 20th state launch for iMingle, whose innovative marketing approach to direct-to-consumer insurance allows individual policyholders to qualify for group discounts – and potentially save hundreds of dollars – by tapping into the collective buying power of social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter.

“Buying insurance has never been a social experience before, but we are changing that,” said Michael Z. Stahl, iMingle’s head of marketing and operations. “We have expanded the popular concept of group buying deals to include insurance, which is something we all need. With iMingle, individual policyholders can qualify for substantial savings on their annual insurance costs simply by teaming up with a friend via their social networks. Our social tools make it easy to click, share and save.”

Launched in 2010, iMingle is aimed at what Unitrin Direct calls the “i Generation,” those consumers who routinely turn to their social networks to find information, compare deals and seek recommendations from their peers. For the first time, an insurance provider has developed its marketing strategy specifically to meet the needs – and expectations – of these policyholders by rewarding them for two things they are already doing: using social media and buying insurance.

Most insurance companies offer discounts if you insure multiple cars within a household. iMingle takes this concept a step further by allowing consumers to link, or “mingle,” their policies with those of their friends, so they can both benefit from the iMingle Network® Discount of 10 percent. This is on top of the many other iMingle policy discounts that are available.

AFLAC vs Tennessee Farmers Life Insurance Company

All insurance companies are different, both in their approaches to their business and in the ways they choose to serve their customers. AFLAC operates in all 50 of the United States, and it is one of the leading insurers in Japan.

Tennessee Farmers Life Insurance Company, on the other hand, operates only within the state of Tennessee. Both insurance providers are strong financially and maintain good relationships with their customers.

AFLAC

In large part thanks to the AFLAC duck and the company’s extensive and ongoing advertising campaign , AFLAC is one of the most recognizable insurance brands. Though AFLAC offers policies to employers, the company’s focus is on the individual and his family. Even business policies are paid by employees, so businesses offer their employees a portal to AFLAC but bear none of the cost themselves.

Founded in Georgia in 1955 as the American Family Life Insurance Company of Columbus, the company changed its name to American Family Life Assurance Company of Columbus in 1964. That remains its official name, but the company adopted the acronym for American Family Life Assurance Company – AFLAC – as its common name in 1990.

Types of Insurance

AFLAC is best known for its supplemental health insurance coverage that pays the individual directly. AFLAC pays cash that can be used for any purpose that the policyholder chooses. It can be used for groceries, the power bill or for any other routine expense that other insurance coverage – such as major medical – does not even consider for payment. The company offers many other types of insurance, however. Some other types of coverage include:

Accident Cancer or other Specified Disease Dental Hospital Confinement, Sickness or Intensive Care Life Lump Sum for Cancer or Critical Illness Disability for Short Term Needs Vision

AFLAC also offers flexible spending accounts for expenses such as dependent daycare, transportation for medical reasons and otherwise unreimbursed medical expenses.
