Snowflake/Taylor Police Report - September 30, 2011

- A 14-year-old girl was arrested on charges of shoplifting from Ed's IGA Supermarket on North Main Street in Snowflake

- John Scott, 69, of Taylor was cited for alleged for failure to yield from a private drive in the 1100 north block of East Street in Taylor.

• Sept. 22 - A 15-year-old Snowflake boy was arrested for alleged shoplifting at Ed's IGA Supermarket. He was transported to the police station and released to a guardian.

According to the police report the boy stuffed Kool-Aid packets into his pocket and ran out of the store before an employee caught him and brought him back. The boy allegedly admitted to taking the merchandise found in the store that he threw out of his pocket while running away.

- Police questioned Barbara Louise Babcock, 50, of Goodyear about tampering with the water service at which time she was arrested on two outstanding warrants and transported to Navajo County Jail in Holbrook.

- A Coleman generator was stolen from a residence on West Plum Blossom Lane in Snowflake. According to the owner someone had gotten into a shed in his back yard in the last two weeks and made off with his Coleman 7,000 watt generator. He was able to describe specific information about the generator to police. The case under investigation.

- Bryan Tsosie, 42, of Chandler was arrested on an outstanding warrant and for assault, disorderly conduct, criminal damage and domestic violence. He was also arrested for alleged assault on a police officer and booked into the Navajo County Jail in Holbrook.

According to the police report, Tsosie assaulted his wife causing a swollen face and leaving blood on her neck and lip. Officers said when they attempted to question Tsosie about the incident he allegedly became verbally abusive at which time he was advised to go to the patrol car and refused. He had to be physically escorted to the vehicle where he was ordered to sit on the ground. He complied this time according to police. According to the officer, when he started documenting injuries suffered by the victim, Tsosie became agitated again and began yelling at the her. The officer said he advised Tsosie to remain silent at which point he began being verbally abusive towards the officer and the victim. Tsosie allegedly than stood up and began walking towards the officer while and threatening to fight him. The officer walked towards Tsosie and physically took him back to the patrol vehicle telling him to sit down but he would not according to the police report. Police said Tsosie was then taken to the ground and held there. He allegedly became agitated again when the victim asked him a question. While the officer was telling him to remain silent, he allegedly rolled back onto his shoulders, lifted his right leg and attempted to kick the officer in the face. At that time he was rolled over to his stomach and held in that position until another officer arrived on scene to transport him and book into jail.
