Insurance company seeks amnesty in child porn civil suit against Milton man
DOVER — The insurance provider for bus company Provider Enterprises, Inc. has asked a judge to rule it is not obligated to cover costs related to a civil suit against the bus company and its employee John Allen Wright.
John Allen Wright, 45, of Milton, was arrested on Sept. 1 after an investigation by the state Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force that began in February 2011 led to a search warrant executed at his home.
According to authorities, that search resulted in the discovery of an external hard drive, identified as being used by Wright, containing approximately 10,000 images and movies depicting child sexual abuse.
Wright worked as a bus driver for special needs children with Provider at the time of his arrest. According to investigators, he previously worked as a bus driver for the Milton School District and as an assistant teacher at Rochester Child Care Center and Quirion Preschool and Learning Center, both in Rochester, in the 1990s.
Both Kittery, Maine and Dover police are investigating Wright as well, with Kittery police issuing a warrant for Wright in September charging him with two counts of gross sexual conduct with a minor. They allege he filmed himself having sexual contact with a local child while on his school bus. Dover police are investigating two separate allegations involving Wright and his contact with children in the city.
In October, Wright was federally indicted on five counts of sexual exploitation alleging Wright coerced three different minor children between Nov. 1, 2010 and July 31, 2011 to engage in sexually explicit acts for the purpose of filming those acts. Wright was also indicted on one count of possession of child pornography.
