Cops: Man Driving Friend to Buy Crack Crashes Car on Green

Middletown Police report the following arrests:

OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE WITH SUSPENDED LICENSE, TRAVELING UNREASONABLY FAST, FAILURE TO DISPLAY PLATES — On Sept. 22 at 12:20 a.m., Stephen A. Hill, 41, of Cynthia Lane was driving a Nissan on Main Street approaching the Arrigoni Bridge without a front plate. He was going 50 mph in a 25 mph zone. Police saw a blue pill on the floorboard, later determined to be a Tic-Tac breath mint.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT, SECOND-DEGREE STRANGULATION — On Sept. 21, Alexis Ortiz, 25, of Rose Circle was arguing with his live-in girlfriend Tyesha Lumpkin, 25, of Rose Circle over her not including him in her college graduation acceptance speech — he said he made several sacrifices for her to gain the achievement. She said Ortiz believed she was contacting other males by phone and was unfaithful. She said while she was in the shower she found him texting people on her phone. She slapped him in the face and his glasses flew off; she said he punched her in the face, leg and head and scratched her arm. He was found with an active warrant out of Hartford. Lumpkin was arrested for third-degree assault and disorderly; Ortiz for the above.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On Sept. 20 at 1:46 a.m., Pamela R. Barber, 47, of Westridge Lane said her final divorce paperwork came through Sept. 15 and her ex-spouse Adelita Martinez, 45, had 30 days to vacate the home. Barber said she sleeps on the couch nightly until Martinez leaves. At 1:20 a.m., Barber awoke to find Martinez pleading with her to allow her to live there, and hitting her on the arms multiple times. Martinez said she found Barber wasn’t in bed when she awoke, found her on the couch and pleaded with her not to close their joint account because a Social Security check was coming through. Barber became verbally aggressive, punched Martinez in the cheek ad scratched her arms and hands. Both were arrested.

THIRD-DEGREE BURGLARY, VIOLATION PROTECTIVE ORDER, FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH FINGERPRINTS — On Sept. 19 at 2:32 p.m., Silvana C. Gerrish, 31, of Rook Road, Cromwell, was found sleeping on her uncle’s couch after throwing a brick through his kitchen window on Green Street. She said she did nothing wrong and asked officers not to arrest her. During booking, she refused to be processed and fought with officers.

Eastgate Centre

The Eastgate shopping centre in Inverness opened in 1983 and now offering 60 shops and services is the choice starting point for most eager shoppers. The Eastgate centre was extended in 2003 and now comprises of two large stylish buildings – the Eastgate Mall and the new Falcon Mall, connected by an over road bridge. The Falcon Mall opens onto Falcon square a large open plaza which is regularly used as a staging post for local events.
