2011 Louisville Concours d'Elegance
Get set for the first weekend in October when Churchill Downs turns over its reigns from horses to horsepower for the 2011 Louisville Concours d’Elegance, Sunday, October 2, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. A series of warm-up events will jumpstart the main event including The Heaven Hill Back Roads of The Bluegrass Driving Tour, The Concours Eve Gala, and a chance to win an expenses paid trip to see comedian Jay Leno’s magnificent car collection.

JAMES BOND VEHICLES
For the first time, the most spectacular display and competition of rare and historic cars in town will be joined by a cast of original vehicles from the most riveting chase scenes in movie history. As Secret Agent 007 might say to introduce the collection, “The name is Bond….James Bond.”
The classic vehicles are part of the world’s largest collection from James Bond movies, owned by the Ian Fleming Foundation outside of Chicago. Heading south on I-65 for the 2011 Louisville Concours d’Elegance will be:

For race cars lovers, there will be a special display of cars that have competed over a century in the Indianapolis 500. The confirmed classics go back as early as 1916 with the Duesenberg driven by Wilbur d’Alene and a 1935 Miller Boyle Special driven by Bill Cummings. 20 Century competitors include the Sunoco Eagle-Turbo Offy driven Mark Donohue, the defending champion in 1973 and the 1983 STP Wildcat-Cosworth driven by Gordon Johncock.
