In accordance with several news sources across the state, a woman from El Cerrito is being paid over $170,000 for the injuries she sustained after being involved in an accident caused by a police car back in 2009.
A spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol has stated that the accident was sufficiently investigated and that the Berkeley police officer was found to be guilty of the accident.
The collision happened when the woman from El Cerrito was driving her moped on Marin Avenue. The trooper entered a roundabout but failed to notice the woman ahead of him, that’s when her moped was hit and she landed on the pavement after being ejected from the vehicle. According to the official reports, the woman needed surgeries on her legs after the crash.
